Project Description
Dry gasholder is designed for the accumulation, storage and delivery of gas to consumers.
The gas-holder serves as a buffer capacity between the units that produce gas (blast furnaces, converter, coke batteries), and a combined-cycle plant (CCGT) and is built into the piping network created between them.
The main functions performed by gasholders:
- acceptance, storage and release of gas produced during production;
- reliable supply of gas to CCGT and other consumers in accordance with the technology of working on a mixture of industrial gases;
- ensuring reliable operation of the combined-cycle plant by smoothing pulsations in the gas supply due to cyclic operation of the units;
- minimization of useless combustion of gas in candles by its accumulation in the gas tank when the load of the combined cycle is stopped or lowered.
